Burnsville High School Sports Registration Due by Aug. 9

It's crunch time for fall sports registration and other Burnsville activities for the week.

Burnsville High School fall sports practices begin August 12. The school asks that parents and students complete the registration forms by August 9.

To be eligible to participate in high school sports, students in grades 7 through 12 must have a current qualifying sports physical exam on file. Exams are good for three years from the last date.

To be eligible, the online registration form also needs to be filled out and athletic fees paid or an athletic waiver requested. Athletic waivers are not available online and must be picked up at the junior high or senior high school offices.

Twin Cities Orthopedics is offering free sports exams at each of their six locations. In Burnsville, free exams will occur on Tuesday, August 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The address is 1000 West 140th Street, #201.

Diamonhead Clinic, located in the lower level of the Diamondhead Education Center, offers free non-emergency services on a walk-in basis for children through high school.

Also in Burnsville this week:

A Superhero Training Camp for children ages 5-12 will be at the Burnhaven Library on Monday at 1:30 p.m.

A free workshop on mastering communication will start at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The workshop will be located at 190 South River Ridge Circle, Suite 208 in Burnsville.

Temporary host families are needed for exchange students.
