Woman Injured in Interstate 35W Crash Near Buck Hill

A 35-year-old Burnsville woman suffered a serious injury after she overcorrected and slipped off the southbound lane.

A Burnsville Woman was airlifted to a local hospital after she lost control of her vehicle on Interstate 35W near Cyrstal Lake Road Sunday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Sulebian B. Ali, 35, was heading southbound on the interstate when she attempted to move her 2004 Toyota Camry to the left lane to pass traffic. She got too far left, according to the report, and overcorrected, veering to the right lane. She slipped off the shoulder and into the right ditch of the southbound lane, eventually hitting a tree near the base of Buck Hill.

The Burnsville Fire Department was called to the scene and asked to stage along the frontage road near the ski resort, according to scanner reports. Burnsville Fire assisted as a victim was extricated and the medical helicopter lifted off from the scene, according to reports at the Police Clips Facebook page.

One person posted an eyewitness report on Twitter at 9:32 p.m. Sunday: "Just saw a car crash on the highway from the top of buck hill." (For more from Twitter, see the Storify above at our desktop version or at Storify.com.)
