Burnsville Police Release Update on Hostage Incident at Gas Station

The standoff in Burnsville at a Holiday gas station on Saturday ended with the man taken into custody.

The Burnsville Police Department has released an update on the hostage incident that occurred on Sept. 7. 

Police responded to the Holiday Superstation at 12290 Nicollet Avenue South at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday after receiving reports that two employees and one customer were held hostage inside the store.

Police arrested the 31-year-old suspect and no one was injured. He is currently in custody at the Dakota County Jail. The incident is still under investigation.

The Dakota County Attorney's Office will file formal charges by 12 p.m. on Tuesday.

With the arrest of the suspect, there are no public safety concerns as a result of the incident, police said.
