Burnsville’s Stauer Agrees to Refunds Under Accusation of Illegal Charges

The company will refund more than 50 customers a total of $10,000 in membership fees.

Mail order company Stauer will refund nearly $10,000 in membership fees to Iowa customers who accuse the Burnsville-based retailer of illegally charging them, the Associated Press reported.

Although the company denied any wrongdoing, Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller said Stauer would change its marketing practices and refund more than 50 Iowa customers. It also agreed to pay the state of Iowa $5,000.
