Detour Ahead: Southbound I-35W Closing on Friday
The signed detour will use I-494 and southbound I-35E.
Burnsville motorists should expect possible delays this weekend due to a closure on Interstate 35W.
Interstate 35W between Highway 13 and the I-35/35W/I-35E split will close starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9.
Crews will paint several bridges that span the roadway, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, northbound I-35 will be reduced to a single lane between County Road 50 and the the I-35/35W/35E split. County Road 46 ramps going to and from I-35 will also close.
The lanes and ramps are scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12.
