I-35 Single Lane Traffic Change Delayed

Single lane traffic will be completed by 5 a.m. Sept. 4, and later in the month, MnDOT will extend the single lane traffic to County Road 50.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced at that the Interstate 35 traffic changes will now start taking place at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

By 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4 both directions of Interstate 35 between County Road 2 and County Road 70 will be a single a single lane on one side of the road. Lanes will reopen in early November.

MnDOT has also schedule temporary ramp closures next week.

  • At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3 the northbound Intersate 35 ramp to Crystal Lake Road will close. The ramp will reopen at 5 a.m. the next day.
  • On Wednesday, Sept. 4 the Crystal Lake Road ramp to southbound Interstate 35 will close at 6 p.m. It will reopen at 5 a.m. on Sept. 5.

Additionally, starting Sept. 23, the single lane traffic on Interstate 35 will be extended to County Road 50. At that time the northbound Interstate 35 ramps from County Road 60/185th Street and to County Road 50 will also close.

MnDOT advises motorists to find alternate routes and use the detours to help minimize delays.
