Burnsville International Festival Opening at Nicollet Park on Saturday

The festival features several dance performances and runs from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The International Festival of Burnsville has dance, food, art, crafts and other fun activities and performances that showcases cultures from around the world.

It's the seventh year of the event, which has as an estimated annual attendance of 4,000 people, the Star Tribune reported.

A few of the several dance performances scheduled for the day include Chinese Dance, Middle Eastern Dance, the Argentinean Tango and the Scottish Highlands Dance.

The Scottish Highlands Dance comes courtesy of the Guthrie School of Dance.

“It was a dance developed in the early medieval period as kind of a way to pump up the soldiers and get them ready for battle,” said Director Kristy Van Hoven told the paper.

The International Festival runs on Saturday, July 13 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Nicollet Commons Park, located at 12550 Nicollet Avenue.
