Pet of the Week: Annie is the Teacher's Pet at Obedience School

Annie was 16 pounds under weight when she was rescued at the last minute from a high kill shelter. Now she's healthy, in obedience school, and would be great in a home with kids.

Editor's note: This is a weekly series called "Pet of the Week" where we feature a companion up for adoption from Dakota County animal rescues. Annie is a blend of redbone coon hound and a little pit bull. Her mix of breeds resulted in a beautiful, smart, loving dog who was rescued from a high-kill shelter at the last possible moment. She came to us with ribs and hip bones showing at 34 pounds at 10 months of age. After some good groceries, she now weighs 50 pounds which is full grown. Annie would make her a great running partner and she loves kids. Aside from sleeping on her back with all four feet in the air, she loves to play with the resident dog.
