Burnsville grad Michael Lee (Retterath) Fraser died unexpectedly on July 15.
Michael Lee (Retterath) Fraser Michael Lee (Retterath) Fraser, 45, died July 15, 2012. He was born on Sept. 11, 1966. He graduated from Burnsville High School in 1985. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael J. Retterath, and his paternal and maternal grandparents: Joe and Effie Retterath, Erick and Lillie Johnson. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lorraine and Gerald Wagner; sister, Lori Retterath; two brothers, Clinton (Kelly) Retterath and Edward (Lisa) Retterath; two stepbrothers, Jared Wagner and Jason (Nicole) Wagner; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Shelly Marie Ulven died on Saturday, July 7, 2012.
Shelly Marie Ulven, 34, of Apple Valley passed away on July 7, 2012. According to Ulven's Facebook page, she graduated from Apple Valley Senior High in 1996. In the mid-2000s, she studied psychology at Augsburg College. She was also a longtime employee at Buy-Rite Auto Sales in Shakopee. Her favorite quotation was, "God will never give you anything you can't handle." She is survived by parents Ronald and Dolly Ulven, sister Shavaughn Ulven, niece Annabelle West, special friend Joel Helling. She is preceded in death by special dog Renagade. A Mass of Christian burial will be held in her honor during the upcoming week, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Church of the Risen Savior, 1501 E. County Road 42, in Burnsville, MN. His friends and family say he was an avid fisherman and pool player, who also loved to draw and spend time with his friends. He is described as "creative, witty and always willing to lend a hand." Burnsville resident John T. McGowan, also known “Terry,” died at the age of 85 on June 23, 2012. He is preceded in death by parents John H. and Gilberte McGowan, an infant daughter Ann Marie, and brother Tom McGowan. He is survived by wife Joan, children Laurie Thulien, Mary Jo McGowan, Tom McGowan, Bill (Tiffany) McGowan and Jim (Amy) McGowan; and nine grandchildren.
