BHS' Snow Week Begins on Friday

Burnsville High will beat the mid-winter blues with a coronation and a neon dance.

Editor's Note: This information is taken from a press release from ISD 191. Snow Week is shaping up at Burnsville High School and will include events and activities beginning Jan. 26.  Students are encouraged to form a snow week team with 5 girls and 5 boys for a week of fun. There will be a medallion hunt that will land $100 in the pocket of one who finds it. The school will cap off the week with a neon dance on Saturday, Feb. 2.  Scheduled events, developed and implemented by the Student Council, include:  Saturday, Jan. 26: Dodgeball tournament at BHS, 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 28: Monday assembly, crowning of royalty; Career Fair, 6 to 8 p.m. at BHS; Volleyball tournament at BHS, 6 to 9 p.m.  Wednesday, Jan. 30: Boot hockey …

Burnsville High Parties Like It's 1989

Neon colors and retro fashions were aplenty at Burnsville's winter dance

Before entering Burnsville High School's winter dance, students splattered neon paint on their friends and on themselves.  A makeshift booth was set up for students to add glow in the dark paint onto their white and spandex outfits. The yellows, greens, purples and pinks got brighter in the blacklight lit gymnasium. The booth also made cleanup a lot easier for those working at the dance.  Adam Zalusky, also known as Crisco on KDWB's Dave Ryan Morning Show, was on hand to help bring the music to the students attending the dance. The dance opened at 8 with students steadily trickling in. But at about 9 p.m., a flood of students rushed through the painting area and invaded the dancefloor with 80's fashion and neon colors. Kent and Benson Crowned King and Queen of Snow Week

Logan Kent and Camille Benson will head up the royal court for Snow Week 2012.

Monday, Logan Kent and Camille Benson were chosen as the King and Queen of Snow Week at Burnsville High School.
