Feb. 23, 2013 saw the passing of Marvis Westerberg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and companion to Henry, a 16-pound Norwegian forest cat.
Marvis Malinda (Guhlke) Westerberg died of pneumonia at the age of 85 on Feb. 23, 2013, surrounded by family on Saturday at N.C. Little Hospice. Westerberg was born on Jan. 15, 1928. She and her husband Bill settled in Burnsville in 1963. She was devoted member of Lutheran Church of the Ascension for 45 years. "Marvis was our beautiful matriarch and loving mother, who would be as comfortable picking corn or sewing a prom dress, as she would be gracefully preparing a dinner for twenty (that could feed fifty of course)," her family writes. "An exceptional an knowledgable gardener, her fondest pastime was feeding and watching the song birds she attracted to her back yard feeders." Edward W. Conley, of Burnsville, passed away on Feb. 16, 2013 at the age of 64. He had recently retired from Lockheed Martin. On Dec. 28, 2012 he ended his career at the company after 39 1/2 years. He is preceded in death by parents, William and Jennie Conley, and brother, Robert Conley. Conley is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jeri; children, Michele (Brad) Amys, Kristin Conley (Sean Stiehm), Nathan and Shawn; grandchildren, Noah and Ryder Amys; siblings, Gayle (Don) Seitz and Bill (Carole) Conley; also by other loving relatives and friends. Charles M. Becker, of Rosemount, passed away on Feb. 7, 2013 at age of 80. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary and Marcelline. Becker is survived by his brother George (Adele) Becker; also by other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Mary, Mother of the Church (333 E Cliff Road in Burnsville). Sherry L. Beilke, of Burnsville, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Jan. 30, 2013 at age 66. Beilke was a longtime resident of Austin, MN before moving to Burnsville. She worked for Maple Island Dairy, Our Own Hardware and then Wells Fargo Bank. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dail and Grace Lorimor.
