Helen is an 18-month-old calico with a sweet streak a mile wide.
Last Hope Animal Rescue is seeking a home for Ms. Helen, an 18-month-old "a sweet, gentle, meek, and mild little girl," according to her foster mom. Helen can be shy at first, but once she settles in she loves to snuggle. Thanks to her mellow personality, she's also fairly good with other cats. She has been spayed and microchipped. Annie was 16 pounds under weight when she was rescued at the last minute from a high kill shelter. Now she's healthy, in obedience school, and would be great in a home with kids.
Editor's note: This is a weekly series called "Pet of the Week" where we feature a companion up for adoption from Dakota County animal rescues. Annie is a blend of redbone coon hound and a little pit bull. Her mix of breeds resulted in a beautiful, smart, loving dog who was rescued from a high-kill shelter at the last possible moment. She came to us with ribs and hip bones showing at 34 pounds at 10 months of age. After some good groceries, she now weighs 50 pounds which is full grown. Annie would make her a great running partner and she loves kids. Aside from sleeping on her back with all four feet in the air, she loves to play with the resident dog. Macy is full of kisses and absolutely adores kids and will follow them around wherever they go.

She is being fostered in Lakeville where she is having fun playing with the other puppies and spending time with the kids. She has had her first two shots, been dewormed three times, has a home again microchip and has been started on heartgard and frontline. She was vet checked last week and has a clean bill of health.
