Funeral Today: James M. Price, Age 72

Dec. 7, 1939 - Nov. 29, 2012

James Michael Price, of Burnsville, passed away on Nov. 29, 2012 at the age of 72. He was a retired serviceman, with 30 years of active service in the U.S. Army under his belt. He is survived by his wife, Maria; children, Michael Price and Beverly Price; and sister, Judy (Ron) Sorensen. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at White Funeral Home in Burnsville. Mourners are invited to a gathering of family and friends starting at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the American Lung Association or the Lymphoma Research Foundation in lieu of flowers.

Obituary: Betty Ann Finstad, Age 66

Dec. 19, 1945 - Dec. 1, 2012

Betty Ann Finstad, of Burnsville, passed away on Dec. 1, 2012, at the age of 66. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Betty Hawley, and her brother, Bob Hawley. Finstad is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Michael (Jodi) Finstad and Susanne (Daniel) Cahalan; grandchildren, Kaylin, Kamryn, Kelsey, Mackenzie and Tyler; and brother, Andy (Jeanie) Hawley. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Apple Valley. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at White Funeral Home in Burnsville and also one hour prior to service at church. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Robert O. Doig, of Burnsville, died on Oct. 26 at the age of 77. He is preceded in death by wife Eleanor, four brothers and two sisters. Doig is survived by sister Virginia Wagner, brother James (Cheryl) Doig, and by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota Assembly Lane 4. Michael J. Myers was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Michael J. Myers, 85, of Burnsville, died on Sept. 4, 2012. Myers was a World War II Navy Veteran. He is preceded in death by parents, Michael and Mary Myers; brothers, Lawrence and Paul; sisters, Eileen Palenko and D’Ann Liptrap. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice; sons, Michael (Jane) and Timothy; daughters, Mary Myers and Connie (Christopher) Doman; ten grandchildren and two-great-grandchildren; his sister, Kathleen (Martin) Carlton; nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Mary, Mother of the Church. He was interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Source: White Funeral Home

Robert Francis “Artie“ Alton Robert Francis "Artie" Alton, 75, of Burnsville, passed away on July 12, 2012 at his home.  He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, John (Susan); daughters: Mary Grace and Kathleen Alton, and Ann (Mike) Coon; six grandchildren; siblings, Kathleen (Bill) Orme and Harry (Maggie) Alton. He is preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Mae. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at Mary, Mother of the Church in Burnsville. He is survived by daughter Paula (Philip) Swiggum; Step children Brad (Nancy), Tom (Donna), Mike (Gayle), Susan Colehour, Becky (Hal) Linden; grandchildren Brian (Ali) Swiggum, Kristen (Mike) Savage, Michael Swiggum; and eight great-grandchildren; also by loving niece and 3 nephews.  He is preceded in death by wife Virginia; sister Jean, and twin brother Donald. Funeral services for Milne will be held at  1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley.
