Apple Valley resident Lloyd E. Nerland, 67, passed away Aug. 26, 2012. Nerland had a lengthy career in the U.S. Army, serving the force for 38 years. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mildred. Nerland is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pat; children, Michelle (Mike) Thelen, Christopher (Tara) Nerland and Jennifer (Tom) Wheeler; 10 grandchildren, Tim, Kayla and Hayley Thelen, Natalie, Sophia and Chloe Wheeler and Logan, Lauren, Ethan and Sean Nerland. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at the Risen Savior Catholic Church in Burnsville, with visitation on Thursday, Aug. 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Apple Valley.
