UPDATE: Armed Perpetrator Crashes Car Into Burnsville Home
Burnsville police apprehended the suspect after a short chase with the help of police departments from Savage, Apple Valley, Bloomington and the Minnesota State Patrol.
The Burnsville Police Department (BPD) was dispatched to a house in the 1400 block of East McAndrews Road after a homeowner interrupted a burglary and called police, said BPD Emergency Management Coordinator Sgt. Don Stenger. The suspect reportedly pointed a gun at the homeowner before fleeing the scene in a black crossover utility vehicle (CUV). The homeowner chased the suspected burglar in his own car and witnessed the suspect crash into a private residence at the corner of Burncrest Court and 134th Street. The suspect fled on foot and was apprehended by a team of police officers from Apple Valley, Savage, Eagan and the Minnesota State Patrol. A gun was recovered on the suspect.
