Passengers in Tuesday's Fatal Crash Identified

Authorities say 16-year-old Jonathan Thomas and Rey Chacon, 17, were fellow passengers in a car that rolled down an embankment onto Interstate 35 on Tuesday, killing two.

The crash killed Frederick Jeffery Alexander, 16, of Burnsville, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2:30 p.m crash. Alesha Katherine Roehl, 17, of Burnsville died a few hours later at Hennepin County Medical Center. Two Lakeville South students—Jonathan L. Thomas, 16, of Lakeville and Rey Chacon, 17, of Burnsville—sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash on Interstate 35, according to a State Patrol media release updated Friday morning. …

A tragic,horrible accident...and our son was a passenger in that car.....we are thanking God every minute over and over again that he is still with us,snd jts only becsuse he had his seatbelt on!! Our hearts and prayers are with the familjes of Frederick and Alesha and we are so so sorry for their loss. Beautiful children who will be missed greatly!! Friends, Loved Ones of Crash Victims Build Makeshift Memorial

A simple wooden cross, flowers and balloons mark the spot where the car in which Frederick Alexander and Alesha Roehl rolled off of Buckhill Road toward I-35 Tuesday afternoon.

A makeshift memorial marks the place where the car in which Alexander, 16, and Roehl, 17, were riding in careened off Buckhill Road toward its landing spot on Interstate 35 just north of the Burnsville-Lakeville border Tuesday afternoon. Alexander and Roehl, who weren’t wearing seatbelts, were thrown from the car. Alexander, of Burnsville, died at the scene of the 2:30 p.m. crash. Second Teen Dies After Fatal Crash on I-35W

Authorities report that a rollover on Interstate 35W has claimed the lives of both Frederick J. Alexander, 16, of Burnsville, and Alesha Roehl, 17, of Northfield.

At about 3 p.m. FOX 9 News reported a serious crash with injuries at County Road 46 and I-35W in Burnsville. Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol reports that the vehicle was headed southbound on Buck Hill Road before the driver lost control. The car rolled down an embankment several times, ejecting two people, and landed on the freeway. According to the State Patrol, there were five people riding in the vehicle, a 1992 Toyota Camry.
