To better handle increasing enrollment at Burnsville High School, the Diamondhead Mall was purchased by the SchoolMore District 191 and converted the top level to accommodate the senior grade. Completed in 1998, students take a shuttle bus between both campuses, spending time each day at both sites. Designed with an open common area with classes in several wings, the feel is more like a college setting with seniors scheduling their courses at both the senior and main campus. Burnsville High School, founded in 1957, is part of the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School district 191 with over 2000 students in grade levels 10 through 12 and over 100 full-time teachers. Approximately 800 attend the Senior Campus.
