Empty the Nest has partnered with Tech Dump to collect gently used, obsolete, or damaged electronics for recycling. The collection is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 in the parking lot of the Empty the Nest Retail Showroom, 1121 Cliff Road East.  

Pimento Jamaican Kitchen will have its grand opening event on Saturday, Aug. 17. The event includes a viewing of the "Food Truck Wars" episode that Pimento Kitchen won. It will start at 12 p.m. at the Burnsville Center.

Members of "Team Patty" have organized a benefit for their friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer. The benefit on Saturday, Aug. 17 is to help her with the cost of medical bills. It will start at 2 p.m. at McKracken's Pub in Burnsville.

School of Rock in Burnsville is hosting an open house to celebrate School of Rock's seventh year in the Twin Cities. The event is on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 14300 Buck Hill Road. A preschool program and mini lessons for older children are part of the celebration.
