Register for the golf tournament.

Registration for the Burnsville Fire Muster Junior Golf Tournament at Birnamwood Golf Course is due by Tuesday, Aug. 16. 

Hear stories from India.

Zaraawar Mistry will perform stories from his childhood in India at Burnhaven Library on Aug. 14. The performance is geared toward youth ages 3 to 15. Music will also be a part of the event. 

Recycle your electronics.

Empty the Nest has partnered with Tech Dump to collect gently used, obsolete, or damaged electronics for recycling. The collection is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Empty the Nest Retail Showroom, 1121 Cliff Road East.  

Donate items to a local fundraiser.

Members of "Team Patty" have organized a benefit for their friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer. The benefit is to help her with the cost of medical bills. It will start at 2 p.m. at McKracken's Pub in Burnsville.

Become a temporary host family.

A student from China needs to stay with a temporary host family for about five weeks starting Aug. 24.
