Patch Match: Be a Mentor to Donnie

Each week, Burnsville Patch will post the profile of a child on the waiting list for a mentor with Kids 'n Kinship, an Apple Valley-based organization that matches kids with adult mentors.

Interests: Donnie enjoys writing, playing games and learning to read.

Personality/Living Situation: Donnie is talkative, polite and likes to visit. He's in first grade. He lives with his single-parent mom, brother and sister in Apple Valley.

Goals/Dreams: Donnie's wish is to go to a park with a bouncy house or slide.

Looking For: A positive male role model. Donnie says he would like to get to know a mentor, visit parks, bike and play catch.

For More Information: Donnie is one of almost 60 children waiting for a mentor through , a private nonprofit serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount in Dakota County for 39 years. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, you're invited to attend an information session from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Nov. 3 at the  in Apple Valley. Mentors can volunteer as individuals, couples, or families for weekly fun and enriching activities at home or in the community on their own schedules.
