The Burnsville girls soccer team, which entered the week ranked fifth in Class AA, closes out the regular season with a home game against Apple Valley on Thursday, Oct. 6.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Alyssa Blahnik leads Burnsville with 23 goals this season, while the Blaze goalkeeping tandem of Meghann Rudolph and Darby Lofthus have seven shutouts between them.

Apple Valley’s balanced attack features a trio of sophomores in Stephanie Syverson, Erica Power and Julia Lam. Co-captain Lauren Hoeppner patrols the Eagles goal and has five shutouts.

BURNSVILLE WILL WIN IF:

Burnsville should win based on its goal-scoring prowess as the Blaze look to fine-tune their game for the coming Section 2AA Tournament, which runs from Oct. 13-18.
