ON THE LINE

Every member of the Burnsville boys cross-country running team will compete on the varsity at this annual event and the 5,000-meter course replicates that which is run for the state meet in November.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Burnsville senior Cole O’Brien returns to the course where he finished as the state Class AA runner-up 10 months ago. Last time, he ran a 15:35.1 and narrowly lost out to since-graduated Adam Zutz of St. Francis. Friday could be a preview of a state title run this November.

Fellow senior Abdulah Salah, as well as junior Shawn Wong also return to the site where they helped the Blaze earn a fourth-place Class AA team finish last year.

ON TAP FOR THE BLAZE

Following the St. Olaf Showcase, the Blaze boys join the girls for the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Les Bolstad Golf Course on the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul Campus.
