Burnsville Resident Named Athlete of the Week at UW-Whitewater

Erika Williams was named singles player of the week.

Burnsville native and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater student Erika Williams was named singles player of the week for her performance in two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference duals this week.

Williams went 2-0 at number four singles in tough competition against UW-Eau Claire and UW-La Crosse, both on the road, to keep her singles record perfect at 4-0. 

On Friday against UW-EC, she pulled away each set in a tight battle against Colleen McCollough 6-2, 6-4. On Saturday morning in La Crosse, she came from behind to earn a tough win over Bryanne Blanton 2-6, 6-1, 10-4.

The Warhawks will travel to St. Peter, MN to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championship hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College Sept. 20-22.
