One of Burnsville's most famous former residents, world-renowned skier Lindsey Vonn, has been released from a Colorado hospital after being tested for "severe intestinal pain."

Vonn was admitted to the hospital in Vail on Monday, NBC reports. Vonn told doctor she was had been suffering from a mysterious pain for two weeks that pervaded her body and left an aching sensation in her bones.

As yet, the details of her illness remain unclear, though Vonn's publicist Lewis Kay told NBC that Vonn is "feeling much better today."

"She is resting comfortably at home. Doctors are still working to determine what specifically was the cause of her illness but thankfully she has responded well to their treatment," Kay said in an e-mail. "We do not know when she will be able to return to the mountain and will update as her health improves."

No word yet on when the four-time overall World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist will be able to resume training. According to FOX sports, Vonn hasn't trained since Oct. 27.
