Burnsville Baseball Loses Heartbreaker to Eastview

The Burnsville baseball team battled with Eastview in a back and forth game, but lost 5-4 in extra innings

The Burnsville baseball team lost its second consecutive game on Monday, falling to Eastview 5-4 in South Suburban Conference play.

The loss comes four days after the Blaze (4-2) lost their first game of the season to Minnetonka on Thursday.

Heading into the fifth inning tied 2-2, the game against Eastview was up for grabs by either team. Eastview took a narrow lead 3-2, but Tyler Hanson's two-run home run put Burnsville back on top 4-3.

After Eastview scored a late run to tie the game, both defenses tightened up. The game headed into extra innings, and after the Blaze failed to score in the top of the eighth inning, they quickly found themselves in a hole.

After an intentional walk to load the bases, a wild pitch brought Scott Nelson of Eastview in to score the game-winning run in dramatic fashion.
