Big Second Inning Lifts Burnsville Fastpitch Past Lakeville North

Burnsville downs Lakeville North 4-2 to improve to 14-1 on the season and 11-0 in the South Suburban Conference

Senior centerfielder Megan Lehnan went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in two runs to help lead the top-ranked Burnsville Blaze to a 4-2 win over visiting Lakeville North in South Suburban Conference girls softball Tuesday.

The Blaze (11-0, 14-1) scored four runs in the bottom of the second to take command of the game. Burnsville allowed Lakeville North (3-8, 6-10-1) a pair of runs in the fourth inning, but shut out the Panthers the rest of the way.

Burnsville senior pitcher Kelsey Anderson threw 105 pitches, 71 of which were strikes. She struck out six, walked two, allowed four hits and gave up two runs, both of which were earned.

Kelly Grove went 2-for-3 and scored a run, Danielle Wolk was 1-for-2, scored a run and drove in a run and Anderson was 1-for-3.

Burnsville plays at Prior Lake (6-4, 8-6) Wednesday, May 11, in a game starting at 4:15 p.m.
