School District in Need of Chess Sets for Saturday's Tournament
Officials have put out a call for extra chess sets for the district-wide chess tournament this weekend.
Chess sets are needed for the district chess tournament on Saturday, Dec. 15, which is scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Metcalf Junior High.
The tournament will involve students from all 10 elementary schools in the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District. According to the district website, it is still possible to sign up. The cost to participate is $15. At the end of the day, the top teams, individuals, and players in each grade will be awarded trophies.
