Robb Named Interim Principal at Vista View Elementary

Superintendent Randy Clegg made the decision to hire a one-year interim principal at Vista View because ongoing budget discussions have included the possibility of closing a school.

Brad Robb has been appointed as interim principal of in Burnsville for the 2012-13 school year.

The building leadership team interviewed internal candidates and recommended that Robb be appointed to fill the position vacated by Principal , who has accepted a principal position in another district. The Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 approved his appointment on June 7.

"I am very excited about this opportunity," said Robb. "I am honored to work with such a great staff and students."

Robb served as the district's coordinator of professional development during the current school year. He has been a social studies teacher at since 2000. Robb served on many district committees and filled many leadership roles in the areas of technology, magnet schools, and professional development.

He earned a bachelor's degree in social studies education from Purdue University, a master's degree in educational leadership from Minnesota State University-Mankato and a K-12 principal's license from the University of Minnesota.

"I did not want to hire a new principal this year and then possibly lay off the person next year," said Clegg. "We were fortunate to have many qualified internal candidates for the position."
