'Interims' at MW Savage, Vista View Made Full-fledged Principals

On April 4, the Burnsville Board of Education offered Interims Jeff Nepsund (Marion W. Savage Elementary School) and Brad Robb (Vista View) permanent principalships.

Starting July 1, two interim administrators will become full-fledged elementary principals.

At its last meeting on April 4, the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District Board of Education voted to extend permanent positions to Jeff Nepsund and Brad Robb. Last year, the two were tapped to fill vacancies at Marion W. Savage Elementary School  and Vista View Elementary, respectively.

"Both Jeff and Brad hit the ground running last fall and have stepped into the principalships showing a strong desire and strong ability to be effective leaders," Assistant Superintendent Chris Lindholm said in a press release.

"During a year as interim principals, both demonstrated a clear vision of where they want to take their schools," he added. "We can look forward to seeing the positive results of their work in the years ahead."

Nepsund follows in the footsteps of Jeremy Willey, who left the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District in August 2012 to become principal of Fernbrook Elementary in the Osseo Area School District. Nepsund is an experienced instructor who has taught at both Harriet Bishop and Hidden Valley elementary schools at nearly all grade levels. Prior to his appointment as interim, he held a number of leadership roles in the district.

Before taking the top spot at vista View, Robb was a social studies teacher at Eagle Ridge Junior High. He replaces Principal Susan Risius, who has accepted a principal position in another district during the summer of 2012.
