Saturday was full of firsts for the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District's chess community.
This year's annual tournament at Metcalf Junior High yielded a first-place team title to Harriet Bishop Elementary. It was also the first time a second grade player made it into the top four overall (Gavin Kellen of William Byrne), and the first time that three members of the same family made it into the top 10 at the same time (Makayla, Brooke and Tyler Haddorf of Sioux Trail).
