Fifth-Grade Sky Oaks Science Class Wins State-wide Clean Air Poster Contest

A class of Sky Oaks Elementary fifth-graders won a first-place gift card of $50 for their graphic design accomplishments in a "Clean Air & Biodiesel Lesson & Poster Contest" sponsored by the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council.

The contest was open to 5th and 6th grade classes throughout Minnesota.

“It was fun teaming Science and Art together,” Pam Schilling, a Sky Oaks science teacher, said in a statement. “Researching biodiesel was a great learning activity which included a lot of life lessons regarding our Earth and 5th graders love contests!”
