Veterans Day 2012: What's Open, What's Closed in Burnsville

See which establishments you will and won't be able to visit on Monday.

Because Veterans Day—Nov. 11—is on Sunday this year, the official observance is on Monday, Nov. 12.

That means Monday will be anything but business as usual.

Below is a list of what’s open and what’s closed on Monday. Let us know in the comments if you know of other businesses that might be closed on Monday.

What’s closed:

• City of Burnsville offices
• City of Savage offices
• Dakota County Western Service Center and all other Dakota County offices
• Burnsville's Burnhaven Library, the Savage Library and all other Dakota and Scott County libraries.
• United States Postal Service branches in Burnsville and Savage, as well as all others; there is no mail delivery on Veterans Day
• Local banks: Wells Fargo, US Bank, Anchor, Sterling State and M&I.

What’s open:

Burnsville-Eagan-Savage and Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan public schools
• Most retailers. Check with local retailers about whether they'll have different Veterans Day hours.
• TCF Bank, American Bank, Merchants Bank and Wings Financial Credit Union will be open regular hours.
• Minnesota Valley Transit Authority bus service will operate on its regular weekly schedule. Check the MVTA website to search schedules.
