• “Reverse 9-1-1” Test:  Be expecting a robo-call today. Residents and business owners operating on a landline should expect an automated phone call between 6 to 7 p.m. when Dakota County will be testing its recently upgraded Mass Telephone Notification System. The system gives local public safety officials the ability to provide essential information to residents quickly in the event of a large-scale emergency, such as a pandemic outbreak, major evacuation or any threat to public safety. Dakota County authorities are asking residents to confirm their home phone number and provide an alternate point of contact such as a cell or work phone number, email address or text messaging information to ensure they receive emergency messages.
