Monday
• Planning Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. at city hall at 100 Civic Center Parkway.
• Information Night at Harriet Bishop Gifted & Talented Elementary School: Parents who are interested in applying on their child's behalf are encouraged to attend this informational session, which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the school's media center. Application information and materials for the 2012-13 school year are available on the school's website.

• Legos at the Library: A fun, family outing where kids can experiment and explore with Legos. Recommended for ages 2 to 12. The event is free and begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Burnhaven Meeting Room.

• Council Worksession: The city council will hold one more informal workshop about the city budget for 2012. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.
• Junior Parent Night at Burnsville High School, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Mraz Center.
Thursday
• Budget Open House: Residents are invited to the city's second-annual Budget Open House where they can speak with department heads about the budget directly. The event runs from 4 to 6 p.m.
• Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. at BHS' Senior Campus.
• Burnsville High presents "Blithe Spirit," a comedy hit by Playwright Noel Coward. The play details the trials and tribulations of cranky novelist Charles Condomine, who is re-married but haunted by the ghost of his late first wife — literally. "Blithe Spirit" will be performed at the Mraz Center from Dec. 1 through Dec. 3 and Dec. 8 through Dec. 10. Each showing begins at 7:30 p.m.
• 2011 Burnsville Chamber Holiday Gala at Best Western Premier Nicollet Inn: During this yearly event the chamber will announce the "Business Person of the Year." Tickets are $40 a person or $300 per table. Admission includes dinner, dancing and the Business Person of the Year Award Presentation. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. For more information call 952-435-6000.

• Lorie Line: Popular pianist Lorie Line presents "Christmas Bells Are Ringing," a holiday music extravaganza at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.
