PHOTOS: Burnsville Fire Department Open House

Thursday, dozens of families crowded into the newly revamped Fire Station No. 1. The building, which has been under construction for months, was ready just in time for Fire Prevention Week.

Thursday night, Sparky the firedog had some company. Burnsville residents crowded into Fire Station No. 1 for games, balloons, and fire demonstrations. The Fire Station — one of two in Burnsville — has been under construction since May, when the city began a $600,000 expansion project. Fire Chief BJ Jungmann said the work is almost complete. Just a few small items remain.
