Used safety equipment finds a new home
The fire department recently replaced its three-year-old remote radio microphones because they were not rated for water resistant situations. The Burnsville City Council June 7 approved the donation of the 37 microphones, a $2,456 value, to Minnesota Emergency Services Board.
Thanks to a new law enacted this legislative session and sponsored by Rep. Tara Mack (R-Apple Valley), there will be no liability to the city regarding the equipment, if the transaction takes place on or after the law’s Aug. 1, 2011 effective date.
