Burnsville Water is All Clear

The annual water report showed no contaminants that violated federal standards.

Burnsville residents can rest easy when they grab a glass of tap water. 

The annual Drinking Water Quality Report, released Wednesday, showed no contaminants present that violated federal standards.

However, there were some contaminants present in trace amounts. Of the nine contaminants listed, organic carbon came the closest to federal limits. The 22.5 units of carbon removed is 28.125 percent of the 80-unit limit.

Organic carbon is naturally present in the environment.

Burnsville gets its water from the Kraemer Quarry and from 17 wells ranging from 265 to 1030 feet deep.
