Burnsville Looking to Upgrade 3,800 Fire Hydrants

The city is planning on spending $125,000 this year on the first 300 new fire hydrant nozzles.

Burnsville is soliciting bids to replace the nozzles on all 3,800 of the city's fire hydrants over the next six years.

The Storz- brand nozzles will allow Burnsville fire fighters to cut down on response time by 60 to 90 seconds.

The city will $125,000 this year on the first 300 new nozzles, according to the Star Tribune.

Owners of private hydrants will be able to buy their own nozzles through the city foe $250.
