Woman Sentenced for Cancer Scam

An Inver Grove Heights woman was sentenced late last week for a door-to-door scam targeting Savage residents, according to the Shakopee Valley News.

Authorities arrested Kathleen Ann Letourneau last fall after a Savage resident called police, suspicious that a woman doing door-to-door fundraising in her neighborhood insisted a donation check be made out to her personally.

Letorneau was sentenced to 118 days in jail, probation, and 160 hours of community service. She received credit for the 118 days she had already spent in jail.
