Week in Review is a rundown of the most popular stories on Burnsville Patch over the last seven days.  

Since we launched on Mar. 28, we've written about everything from Burnsville's tennis and softball teams to the census numbers and how they're impacting School District 191.

Gordmans has drawn comparisons to stores like J.C. Penney and Kohl’s, but according to CEO Jeff Gordman, what really sets the store apart is its commitment to carrying only nationally known brand names in apparel, accessories, footwear, gifts, furniture and other household goods.

Future editor Clare Kennedy gives a shout out to her new readership. Although not scheduled to begin her Patch duties until early May, Kennedy couldn't pass up the opportunity to greet her new readership with a bit of personal information.

Michelle Rose Chlan, 26, was charged Mar. 30 on three counts of having a sexual encounter with a 16-year-old male student of the Shakopee school at which she taught. If convicted, Chlan faces up to seven years behind bars. She is scheduled to be arraigned on June 6.

The Burnsville Police Department (BPD) on Friday was dispatched to a house in the 1400 block of East McAndrews Road after a homeowner interrupted a burglary and called police. The suspect reportedly pointed a gun at the homeowner before fleeing the scene in a black crossover utility vehicle (CUV).
