Authorities Broaden Ground Search For Missing Burnsville Man

Authorities are still looking for an endangered adult — Lorenzo Moreno-Pachero, a 61-year-old who went missing on Sunday.

April 19, 6 a.m. Update: In spite of an extensive search via ground and air, the Burnsville Police Department has yet to find Lorenzo Moreno-Pacheco, a 61-year-old vulnerable adult who went missing on Sunday. 

On Wednesday, officials attempted to retrace Moreno-Pacheco's steps using a bloodhound provided by Hennepin County, to no avail. No new scent tracks were located. Authorities also expanded the ground search to the swampy area to the northwest and the Industrial Park and conducted an air search on Tuesday, with no success.

Moreno-Pachero is a 61-year-old Hispanic male. He was first reported missing on Sunday morning. He was last seen on the afternoon of April 15 around Burnsville Parkway, near the city's border with Savage.

Investigators canvassed the area with help from seven other agencies, but the search was suspended at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday night due to approaching hazardous weather. The BPD resumed search of the area on Monday morning.

The missing man does not speak English and suffers from a serious medical condition. He was diagnosed with dementia as a result of a head injury. He stands approximately five feet, six inches and weighs about 150 pounds. He walks with a limp. He was last seen wearing black pants and a red shirt.

Neighboring police departments have been notified and his name has been entered into a national data base as an endangered missing person. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Moreno-Pachero should call 911 or Detective Christi Carpenter on her direct line at 952-895-4592.
