Savage Police: No Charges Will Be Filed in Connection with the Death of Brett Raley

After an extensive review by the Scott County Attorney's Office, no charges will be filed against the driver in the May moped accident that killed Burnsville's Brett Raley, 18.

Four months after Brett Raley's death, the Scott County Attorney’s Office has arrived at a decision: There will be no criminal charges filed against the driver of the moped that Raley was riding, which collided with a fence during the wee hours of May 8.

Raley's case was the subject of a lengthy review by the office. The 18-year-old Burnsville man died shortly after the crash outside a Savage home on the 12400 block of Lynn Ave. S. Raley was found unresponsive at the scene. Police later confirmed that another party had been involved in the one-vehicle crash, though authorities did not release any further details.
