Savage, Burnsville Warn Public Against Intruder

The two cities have asked residents to keep an eye out for an intruder who has broken into occupied homes.

In early July, a Burnsville woman awoke to see a stranger silhouetted in the doorway to her bedroom. Two months later, a Savage family found a chair sitting beneath their child’s bedroom window. The screen on their child’s bedroom had been removed, though it appeared that the intruder had not entered the home.

This week, a child in Savage saw an intruder lurking in the shadows of their bedroom. In all cases, the suspect disappeared before the police arrived.

Police are asking residents to help identify and apprehend the suspect or suspects.  At this time, the has stated that the three cases show similarities though they have not yet determined if a single suspect is responsible. In each incident, the suspect entered the homes through a window, after cutting or removing the screen.
