Remains Recovered in Murphy-Hanrehan Identified as Missing Burnsville Man

Tuesday, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner confirmed that skeletal remains found in Murphy-Hanrehan Park are that of Lorenzo Pacheco, a 61-year-old Burnsville man who went missing in April of last year.

Authorities have identified skeletal remains recently found in Murphy-Hanrehan Park.

With the aid of previous medical records, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner has confirmed that the skeletal remains are those of Lorenzo Pacheco (aka Lorenzo Moreno-Pacheco and Lorenzo Pacheco Orozco). Pacheco went missing on April 15, 2012. Though law enforcement conducted an extensive search of Murphy-Hanrehan and the surrounding area, the remains of his body was not discovered until April 13, 2013, when a man walking his dog happened upon them.

There is no evidence of foul play. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the medical examiner was unable to determine the date of death or the cause, said Sgt. Rory Bochniak of the Burnsville Police Department.
