Prior Lake High Defaced by Vandals—Circumstances Suggest Burnsville Culprit

Authorities are offering a $200 reward to anyone with information about the identity of the graffiti artists who struck Prior Lake High between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Apparently, the pre-game trash talk leading up to Wednesday night football was not confined to Twitter. Rivalry between Burnsville High and the Lakers has taken a turn for the worse this week, after a profanity-laced message was found scrawled inside the football stadium at Prior Lake High School.

According to the Savage Pacer, vandals spray painted crude messages onto the track at the PLHS stadium during the night preceding a football game between the two schools, which was set for Wednesday. The timing and the content strongly suggest that the vandals hail from the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District, Savage Police Capt. Dave Muelken told the Pacer.

This is not the first time vandals have antagonized the Prior Lake student body with graffiti. A similar incident occurred in 2011, just before Burnsville’s homecoming game with Prior Lake.

Both school and the Savage Police are investigating further. Anyone with information about the identity of the vandals is asked to contact Burnsville High School Principal Dave Helke at (952) 707-2101 or Athletic/Activities Director Jeff Marshall at (952) 707-2111. Authorities are offering a $200 reward if the tip leads to an arrest.
