Police: Spate of Burglaries Strike South Burnsville

On Monday, the Burnsville Police Department sent out a community alert about a series of break-ins that have occurred over the last five days.

Local authorities have asked residents to keep an eye out for intruders.

According to a community alert issued on Monday, three homes in south Burnsville have been broken into since Dec. 13, 2012. The burglaires were concentrated around West Park Drive, Westcliffe Drive and Early Lake Place, in the early evening between 6 and 6:30 p.m.

In all cases, the burglar rang the door bell to see if anyone was home. If no one came to the door, the perpetrator gained access to the house by using large rock or landscaping rock from the yard to break patio doors or windows.
