New Prague Attorney Chosen to Replace Dakota County Judge Convicted of DWI

Friday, Gov. Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Colleen Goggins King as District Court Judge in Minnesota's First Judicial District.

The governor has chosen a replacement for Judge Michael V. Sovis, who retired earlier this year after he was convicted of drunk driving. Friday, Gov. Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Colleen Goggins King as District Court Judge in Minnesota’s First Judicial District. 

King is a resident of New Prague. She is currently a partner at Wornson, Goggins, Zard, Neisen, Morris & King, P.C. King has ample experience in family law, criminal defense, estate planning, probate, conservator/guardianship matters and civil litigation. She has also served as a part-time public defender for Scott, Dakota and McLeod Counties in the past. 

The First Judicial District consists of Carver, Dakota, Goodhue, Le Sueur, McLeod, Scott and Sibley Counties.
