Local Man Charged With Assault, Child Endangerment

Donald Neil Allen, 40, is being held in Dakota County Jail awaiting his omnibus hearing on May 2

Burnsville's Donald Neil Allen, 40, is being held in Dakota County Jail awaiting an omnibus hearing on charges of assault and child endangerment. He is scheduled to be sentenced at the Dakota County Judicial Center on May 2.

Allen was arrested in early-April after Burnsville police were called to an apartment in the 1700 block of Burnsville Parkway on suspicion of an assault in progress.

According to the criminal complaint against Allen, police arrived at the residence to find his girlfriend, identified only as DNB, crying and bleeding from the nose and mouth.

DNB told police that Allen had punched her several times in the face and attempted to strangle her. She also told police that her children, 8 and 2, had witnessed the assault.

After dialing 911 following the assault, Allen reportedly ripped the phone off the wall and jumped off the couple's second-floor balcony to avoid police.
