Fire Breaks Out on McAndrews East

The Burnsville Fire Department was called to a twin home in central Burnsville after a cooking fire broke out on Friday afternoon.

It was a close call for one family on McAndrews.

The Burnsville Fire Department was called to the 600 block of McAndrews Road East around 3:30 p.m. on Friday after a cooking fire broke out in a twin home. The fire did not spread beyond the kitchen. Crews were able to put it out in a matter of minutes. Fire Marshal Lee LaTourelle said there were no injuries.

LaTourelle said the outcome was fortunate, especially in light of recent events. Others have not been so lucky: Two Savage families lost their homes last week in separate incidents—one and another on Tuesday. Both homes have been deemed a complete loss. Authorities in Savage have not yet released any information about the cause of either fire.
