Haunted House at Buck Hill Ravaged by Fire

Early Sunday morning a blaze tore through Frightmares at Buck Hill, which is set to open in less than a month.

Frightmares will go forward as planned after a fire that ripped through one the set pieces a the Halloween attraction, Buck Hill officials say.

According to a report on KARE 11, authorities believe the fire broke out just before 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, engulfing a "temporary structure." There are three such buildings on the Frightmares grounds, the Fright Factory, the Orcahrd Manor Dead & Breakfast, or the Bellharm Lovejoy Asylum.

“The fire destroyed the Bellharm-Lovejoy Asylum, one of four houses and many other attractions at Frightmares at Buck Hill. No one was injured in the fire,” said a statement from the company, as reported by Sun Thisweek.

The TV station quotes Burnsville Fire Chief BJ Jungmann, who said flames were shooting through the roof when emergency crews arrived. There are no reported injuries. The building was vacant at the time of the fire. The incident remains under investigation.
